AFR-4 multi-channel arc flash relay is a versatile and independently operating device for bay-based protection. It supports 4-channel arc signal detection and can configure multiple arc tripping modes, ensuring accurate and fast fault isolation. With a fast relay output speed up to 5ms, AFR-4 can minimize or eliminate arc flash damage, improving system safety and reliability. It can be used in various arc protection applications in high or medium-voltage power distribution systems.

AFR-4 also provides flash warning and dual dual-criterion tripping mechanism (arc detection + current), providing a comprehensive solution for arc flash protection. Integrated RS-485/Modbus communication enables seamless remote monitoring and control, which is ideal for modern power systems.

A: Blue Jay arc relays are IEC-listed.

Q2: Does the arc flash relay detect a possible event or the event itself and operate the feeder breaker?

A: The arc light relay detects the event (light/light+current) and immediately issues a trip command to the corresponding feeder circuit breaker.

Q3: Do the Blue Jay Arc-Flash Relays provide zone tripping?

A: The AFR-4 has four outputs for circuit breaker tripping. Each sensor input can be assigned to any one or all four trip outputs. Therefore, the AFR-4 can trip up to four independent zones.
